About :Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland (Come now, Saviour of the heathen) is a chorale adapted by Martin Luther in 1524. Bach used it in several cantatas, and it appears in the collection The Leipzig Chorales, or Eighteen Chorales of Different Manners (Achtzehn Choräle von verschiedener Art), BWV 651-668, collected in the last years of his life for printing. They are adaptations of chorales for organ with two manuals and pedalboard. The version recorded here is transcribed for saxophone quartet by Nicolas Herrouët, member of the Ellipsos Quartet.
