About :Adrien Willaert (ca. 1490-1562) was a Netherlandish Renaissance composer. He travelled to and stayed in Italy starting from 1515. Willaert's good reputation, both as a musician and a composer, spreaded all throughout the country. In 1527, he was appointed as maestro di cappella of St Mark's in Venice, a prestigious position he held until his death in 1562. Then his influence grew a lot as many composers, coming from all over Europe, are looking for his teaching, known as learned and demanding both for singing and for composing.
