About :Alcina is an opera in three acts by Georg Friedrich Handel (1685-1759), which premiered in London in 1735. The libretto, by an anonymous author, is inspired by the 'Orlando Furioso' of Ariosto. It tells the story of the fascinating magician Alcina, who fell in love with the knight Ruggiero.'Di cor mio quanto t'amai' is Alcina's first aria (act I, scene 2), and exposes the idyllic love between the magician and her bewitched lover.
