About :As the first milestone of the reform led by Christoph Willibald Gluck (1714-1787) and the Italian librettist Ranieri de' Calzabigi (1714-1795), 'Orfeo ed Euridice' is a landmark work in the history of opera. Azione teatrale, which contrasts with the traditional opera seria, it was first performed in Vienna in 1762. In Act III, Orfeo sings his lamento 'Che farò senza Euridice' with great modernity, in a major key and with restraint, when his love disappears for the second time.
