About :Philippe Gaubert (1879-1941) was a French flutist and composer who, notably, was director of the Opéra de Paris. Mostly known by flutists, he has also written beautiful works for many other instruments, as well as orchestral pieces. He wrote his Cantabile et Scherzetto for a contest held by the Conservatoire de Paris.
